Tell Me About WriteShop…
The WriteShop is a parent-guided curriculum that has been a valuable resource for homeschool families since 2001. WriteShop offers three levels of learning: Primary, Junior, and I/II. A placement guide is available to determine the most appropriate level for your scholar.
WriteShop Primary. Introductory writing skills for children in grades Kindergarten to 3rd grade. Each book in this level has 10 lessons. It is recommended that students spend 15-20 minutes per day, every other day with WriteShop Primary.
WriteShop Junior. This upper-elementary curriculum introduces children to the excitement of writing in different genres, including mysteries, science fiction stories, and nonfiction reports (WriteShop). Students refine their skills in brainstorming, writing, and self-editing/revision at this level. It is recommended that students spend 30-45 minutes per day, three days per week with WriteShop Junior.
WriteShop I and II. Older students in junior high and high school will tackle descriptive, expository, narrative, and persuasive compositions and essays (WriteShop). There is a Video Companion Course available for this level to assist with teaching the content for WriteShop I.

Special Notes: It may be possible to teach children who are in multiple grades together, using this curriculum. Teacher’s Guides include scheduling plans and suggestions for how to teach children who are at differing levels.
